Carrie Norman, AIA, (b. 1984 Los Angeles, USA) is a founding partner of Norman Kelley and practices in Cambridge. Norman received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture with Honors from the University of Virginia and a Masters in Architecture from Princeton University. She is a licensed architect in the states of New York, Louisiana, and Illinois, and previously worked as a Senior Architect with SHoP Architects, in New York City. In addition to practice, she is an Assistant Professor in architecture at MIT School of Architecture and Planning. Previously she has taught design studios and seminars at Tulane University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia GSAPP, Barnard College, Harvard University's Graduate School of Design, and Yale School of Architecture.

Thomas Kelley, Partner

Thomas Kelley (b. 1984 Canberra, Australia) is a founding partner of Norman Kelley and practices in Chicago. He received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture with Honors from the University of Virginia and a Masters in Architecture from Princeton University. He was raised in Canberra, East Berlin, Warsaw, Tegucigalpa, Oxford, Lima, and Virginia. He has previously worked in the architecture practices of Brasil Arquitetura Studio in São Paulo, Asymptote Architecture in New York, and Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill in Chicago. Thomas is the recipient of the Reyner Banham Fellowship from the University at Buffalo and is a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome (FAAR ‘13). In addition to practice, he is an Associate Professor in architecture at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He has previously held teaching positions at the University at Buffalo, Syracuse University, Harvard University's Graduate School of Design, and Yale School of Architecture.

Spencer McNeil, Associate

Spencer McNeil, AIA NCARB, is a project architect with Norman Kelley. He is a registered architect with ten years of experience in the architecture and interior design industry. He received his Master of Architecture from UIC, where he was awarded the Alpha Rho Chi Medal of Merit, and a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Knox College. At UIC, Spencer was an editor for the student-run publication, Fresh Meat Journal. Spencer serves as an Adjunct faculty member at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and has previously taught at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Spencer previously worked for Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill in Chicago, Studio Santalla in Washington, DC, and with BairBalliet on their submissions to the 2016 Venice Biennale and the 2018 Moma PS1 Young Architect's Prize. His work has been published in conjunction with the writing of Sam Jacob, and exhibited at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. McNeil is a registered architect in Illinois and Texas.

Evan Ortiz, Designer

Evan Ortiz is a designer with Norman Kelley. He received Bachelor's Degrees in Economics and Studio Art with Honors from Wesleyan University and is currently pursuing his Master's Degree in Architecture at MIT. Prior to MIT, Evan worked as a project designer and construction project manager at MADE, a design/build firm in Brooklyn. Today, his work explores the role of perception across different scales and forms of media. His background as both a designer and builder translates into an acute sensitivity to detail.
